Voters across Tampa Bay area showing up at polls despite rain
Early morning storms caused multiple power outages across Pinellas County, raising concerns about whether voting was being affected.
The Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections' office said the power was out for 10 minutes at precincts 203 and 204, at Bethel Metropolitan Baptist Church. At precinct 205, Prayer Tower Church of God, the power was out for close to 45 minutes. Everyone was able to vote.
"The ballot scanners all have battery backup, so if there was a power outage, it should not affect the voting," said Nancy Whitlock, communications director for the Supervisor of Elections.
Elsewhere, voters turned up at the polls across the Tampa Bay area carrying umbrellas. Full story here.
