Where did all the voters go?
SPRING HILL -- Is it the hordes that voted early? Or the scary tales of long lines at the polls? But the voters here apparently disappeared.
Sure, the crowds typically ease in the afternoon, but campaign officials, candidates and reporters in Hernando County are reporting lighter-than-expected turnout -- even through the lunch hour. Across the county, lines dwindled to none after the initial crush.
One local Democratic candidate (wishfully) blamed it on dismal GOP turnout. But the local Democratic party chairman isn't taking chances. He's preparing a robo-call for this afternoon to help turnout his party's voters.
