Who's beating on bare-knuckle Bunting?

Bunting_mailer Pasco County GOP Chairman Bill Bunting has found himself on the receiving end of an anonymous mailing to voters listing his misdemeanor convictions around his smiling face. Its point: "Bill Bunting, this is no laughing matter. Pasco can no longer take your divisiveness."

While the technical details are accurate, the mailer omits one thing: the convictions were nearly five decades ago. Bunting was busted in New York of criminal mischief, indecent exposure (skinny dipping) and burglary, a petty larceny Bunting acknowledged pilfering liquor. He served five months at Rikers Island.

The mailing is meant as warning to voters "before you cast your vote for the Republican Committeeman." Bunting is running to unseat state committeeman John Renke II, and faces a mutiny by disaffected neighbors for his precinct post. Renke and the others said they had no role in the mailing.

"Whoever did it is a professional ... and they must have been doing these pieces for a long time," Bunting tells Bay Buzz.
