Daniel Alvarez appointed to Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority, Rebecca Smith reappointed
Gov. Rick Scott on Friday appointed attorney Daniel Alvarez and reappointed construction company owner Rebecca Smith to the board of the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority.
Alvarez will take the seat formerly held by Curtis Stokes for a term through July 1, 2017. A Seffner resident, he is a managing member of The Alvarez Legal Group, an adjunct professor at the University of Tampa and Tampa Hispanic Heritage's current Hispanic Man of the Year. He previously served on the Hillsborough Children’s Services Advisory Board.
A Tampa resident, Smith owns The AD Morgan Corp., has served on the board of Prison Rehibilitation Industries & Diversified Enterprises and has chaired Tampa's Variance Review Board and the Governor's Council for Small and Minority Business. Her reappointment is for a term through July 1, 2019.
The Florida Senate must confirm each appointment.
