In April, we reported that Studio Movie Grill was likely coming to the Seminole City Center. The center's developers made that official this week in a news release.

Construction of the 42,000-square-foot theater is expected to start this fall, said Jeff Preston, managing partner of North American Development Group, which teamed up with Tampa-based Primerica Group One to develop the center.

The theater will have 11 screens — two more than originally planned — and around 1,100 seats, Preston said. The upscale cinema has in-theater food and drink service as well as a bar in the lobby. Movies will also have reserved seating. The company has one other location in Florida at the University Mall in Tampa.

The theater joins several other businesses that have signed leases with the center, including Earth Fare, Ulta, Stein Mart, Bealls, Homegoods, Kirkland’s, LA Fitness, Petco, Hand & Stone Massage, Burger Fi and Pieology, accorindg to the release.

The center is expected to open this spring at the site of the former Seminole Mall at 11201 Park Blvd. N.
