Moore picks up Bilirakis endorsement
Pasco Commission candidate Mike Moore has picked up another endorsement, this one from Congressman Gus Bilirakis.
"Mike has the required character traits to help take Pasco County to the next level. In this day and age we need honorable men and women who understand that leading with integrity means everything," Congressman Bilirakis said in statement from Moore's campaign. "Additionally, Mike understands that small businesses are the engine that drive our economy.
"He knows that cutting red tape and lowering taxes is what it takes to allow businesses to thrive. I look forward to working with him so that the local and federal government can work in tandem to make Pasco County a premier place to live, work, and play."
The endorsement comes just after Ken Littlefield filed to run in the same race.
Moore already had competition from Zephyrhills Repubilcan Bob Robertson, but Littlefield could prove more formidable an opponent because he brings name recognition, having served in the state House from 1999 to 2006.
The Republican primary is set for Aug. 26.
