Murphy opens campaign office in HD 36 race
Amanda Murphy, the lone Democrat in the House District 36 race, opened a campaign headquarters this week.
Murphy, who will not run in a primary election because no other Democrat is running, opened the office at 6643 Ridge Road in Port Richey with a fundraising reception Tuesday.
Murphy is trying to replace Republican Mike Fasano, who resigned last month when he was appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as Pasco’s tax collector.
The general election is Oct. 15.
Murphy will face the winner of the Sept. 17 Republican primary. Three Republicans are running in that race.
