Partisan group blasts Rick Kriseman on TV ad in St. Pete mayor's race
Money from the Republican Party of Florida is coming after mayoral hopeful Rick Kriseman.
A new televsion ad blasts Kriseman's six-year tenure in the Florida House. The message mirrors similar attacks on the campaign trail from Mayor Bill Foster. The mayor has frequently criticized the partisan nature of the nonpartisan race.
While the state Democratic has pumped more than $30,000 into Kriseman's campaign, the state GOP is sending its cash to a partisan group to blast Kriseman.
The state GOP donated $96,000 in the past two weeks to Tallahassee-based Accountability in Government Inc., an electioneering group. Accountability in Government shares a Tallahassee address with Richard Coates, the general counsel for the Republican Party of Florida.
