Pasco administrator's job draws some familiar names
Sixty-one people have applied to replace Pasco County Administrator John Gallagher, who is scheduled to retire June 1 as one of Florida's longest-serving administrators in a single county.
The list includes one internal candidate, Michele Baker, currently Pasco's chief assistant county administrator. Other locals were Mike Herr, administrator for public works and utilities for the city of Tampa; Eric Johnson, director of strategic planning for Hillsborough County; and Carl Harness, a Pinellas County assistant administrator. Harness also is one of five candidates to be interviewed May 9 for the vacant executive director's job at the Children's Board of Hillsborough County.
