Resident to Dunedin commission: Stop holding marathon meetings
Cathy Greenwood has a request for the city of Dunedin: End commission meetings at a reasonable time.
"Please stop overloading the agendas for commission meetings," the resident said during Thursday night's meeting. "Some people might begin to wonder if the commission is doing it on purpose."
Dunedin's Dec. 3 commission meeting started at 6:30 p.m., and ended more than six hours later at 12:45 a.m.
"Going past even 10 p.m. is asking a lot of folks," Greenwood said. "It limits the willingness and ability of citizens to stay for meetings that exist for them."
Mayor Julie Ward Bujalski agreed with Greenwood. She said city manager Rob DiSpirito is trying to space out future public hearings.
“We are working on it," the mayor said. "We don’t want to be here until 1:30 in the morning any more than you do.”
