Rich McClain appointed to HART board
Gov. Rick Scott appointed Richard McClain Wednesday as the newest member of the 13-person Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority Board of Directors
McClain will replace Josh Burgin, who served on the HART Board since February 2012 until his decision to step down on July 1. McClain's term spans through Oct. 31, 2018.
McClain is federal lead in Tampa for Deloitte Consulting LLP and a member of the Tampa Bay Defense Alliance board of directors. He was previously co-chair for the Tampa-Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation, Defense and Security Task Force.
"We are very pleased with the Governor's appointment of Mr. McClain to the HART Board of Directors," HART CEO Katharine Eagan said in a news release. "We look forward to his contributions, perspective and his wealth of knowledge that can help enhance the HART transit system and transit choices throughout the region."
McClain retired from the United States Air Force in 2011 after overseeing the Air Mobility Command's air operations in the Pacific. He received his bachelor's degree from Fayetteville State University, his master's degree in logistics management from Georgia College and his master's degree in strategy from the Air University.
