Safety Harbor dismisses idea of moving up meeting times
Safety Harbor Commissioner Richard Blake met resistance from his peers this week when he suggested moving commission meetings until earlier in the day.
The commission meets every other Monday at 7:30 p.m., later than most other cities in Pinellas County.
"I would love to make the meetings earlier if possible," Blake said, adding he prefers to make important decisions earlier in the day when his mind is fresh.
Commissioner Nina Bandoni said she'd prefer not to move up the meetings because of childcare issues.
Mayor Joe Ayoub also said he likes having the meetings later, so the commission can hold workshops beforehand if necessary.
Ultimately, commissioners squashed the idea, and kept things as is.
