St. Petersburg candidates turn in campaign reports

9

April

The campaign train is rolling to St. Petersburg City Hall as political candidates turn in financial reports for the first quarter.

The filing deadline is Wednesday.

In the city’s top job, Mayor Bill Foster and candidate Rick Kriseman have not submitted the reports, according to the city clerk.

But candidates have filed reports for Council Districts 2 and 4.

In District 2, council member Jim Kennedy collected $1,500 in donation, records show.

In District 4, Dr. David McKalip and Darden Rice are seeking the seat since council woman Leslie Curran faces term limits.

McKalip reported contributions of $7,793. He also loaned himself $1,000, the report shows.

Rice hasn’t filed yet, but Peter Schorsch of SaintPetersBlog.com is reporting that Rice has collected $25,900 in contributions. He attributes the information to “sources inside Rice’s camp.”

In District 8, William Hurley collected $590.
