St. Petersburg: The latest in the race for District 4 council seat
ST. PETERSBURG -- The three candidates in the District 4 City Council race are expected to attend a candidate debate sponsored by the Northeast Park Neighborhood Association.
The hour-long debate among candidates Carolyn Fries, David McKalip and Darden Rice is scheduled for 7 p.m. July 8 at the Masonic Home of Florida, 3201 First St.NE. The event is free and open to the public. For questions, contact Scott Willis at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Rice has been endorsed by state Rep. Dwight Dudley, D-St. Petersburg. Rice said she was honored by the endorsement, saying in a statement that “His willingness to take on public utilities reform is the type of courage we need in elected officials. Dudley raised the red flag that corporate monopolies are hurting the middle class and getting away with hidden utility taxes.”
McKalip has posted a YouTube campaign commercial touting his efforts in getting a section of Haines Road repaved. You can find it by going to www.youtube.com and entering ‘McKalipforcouncil.”
