Tampa City Hall launches free smart phone app
Tampa City Hall announced Wednesday that it has launched its first, free mobile application for Android and iPhone smart phones and tablets.
The idea, said Mayor Bob Buckhorn, is to put city services at residents' fingertips. Residents can use the app to do everything from reporting potholes and illegal snipe signs to asking for a new street light to following the city and mayor on social media. The app also will provide access to news releases, notices of events, job opportunities and contact information for city departments.
City staff developed the app at no additional cost to taxpayers. Look for the app in the iTunes store or Google Play store under the name “City of Tampa.” Visit tampagov.net/mobileapp to see a video demonstration of the app.
