Tarpon Springs mayoral candidate files complaint against opponent
Tarpon Springs mayoral candidate Chris Alahouzos has used a Facebook post to respond to the Feb. 25 Tampa Bay Times article addressing his unfounded Sunshine Law violation accusations against opponent Frank DiDonato.
The post begins in tall letters: "A LETTER TO THE TAMPA BAY TIMES" and announces that a formal complaint against DiDonato has been filed.
"I appreciate the Tampa Bay Times publishing an article on the current issue. To every story there are three versions, the story being presented, the other story and the truth of the matter," he wrote. "To determine the truth of the matter my staff has filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office and I leave it to her office to define what the true story is."
The post racked up more than 100 shares, 250 likes and comments -- some in Greek -- expressing excitement for election day on March 15.
DiDonato said his response to the status is the same response he has had throughout the race against Alahouzos.
"I have nothing to hide," he said. "So I certainly welcome it."
