Toronto Blue Jays haven't made decision to ditch Dunedin
The Toronto Blue Jays have made no final decision on moving their spring training home from Dunedin, according to team president Paul Beeston, but he says the chance to join the Houston Astros in a proposed new facility in Palm Beach Gardens was the "perfect situation."
Since their 1977 inception, the Jays have trained in Dunedin at what are considered less-than-ideal facilities. Beeston said the Jays plan to honor their current deal, which expires in 2017, but feel "it may be time to look around and see if there's a better facility we're able to pull together."
The Astros, who train in Kissimmee, presented that opportunity, and the Jays are interested.
Beeston aid the Jays would talk to Dunedin officials and no final decision has been made about leaving Dunedin: "None. Zero."
