Honesty surprises retired tax lawyer
A saleswoman at a West Boca shoe store found a ring worth several thousand dollars in a designer shoe, according to SunSentinel.com.
Fortunately for the ring’s owner, the finder, Maria del Carmen Servin, stressed ethics when she was a teacher in Mexico.
Susan Ray said she was surprised anyone returned the piece of jewelry, which was her great-grandmother’s engagement ring.
“I’m very awed by what she did,” Ray said. “I didn’t think I knew those people were still out there.” But Ray was a tax lawyer, not a teacher.
