There are some places you don’t expect to find a bear. One of them is atop a palm tree — and asleep, too.

   Going up the palm tree probably wasn’t the bear’s first choice, but when it wandered into a Fort Myers neighborhood, residents called state wildlife officials.

   They shot the bear with a tranquilizing dart, and it scampered up the tree before falling asleep, news-press.com reports.

   The bear, which weighs less than 100 pounds, is likely around a year old.

   Officials placed sardines and doughnuts near the foot of the palm tree to lure it to a trap when it wakes up. They plan to relocate it.
