Castle burns in Miami Beach

It looked impervious, but an vacant mansion in Miami Beach was destroyed by fire Friday morning.
Maybe "castle" wound be a better description.‘’It was an amazing house,’’ a lawyer who handled a $7.6 million sale of the place in 2007 told the Miami Herald. “He (Michael Burke of Windjammer Barefoot Cruises) had built a moat. He had sharks. He had exotic fish.” Even gargoyles.
The mansion, made of stone but with wooden frames inside, had 10 bedrooms and seven bathrooms, as well as a billiard room, home theater, gym and indoor and outdoor pools.
It was vacated a few months ago.
A real estate agent from Hawaii stumbled upon the mansion earlier this week and was intrigued. “The inside looked like a disheveled castle. It looked like the kids came in and partied hardy in that place. … The place looked totally abandoned,” he said.
