Town manager fired because wife is porn star
The town manager of Fort Myers Beach has been fired because his wife is a porn star. And some residents questioned the decision during an emergency Town Council meeting Wednesday night.
A Web site that follows the adult industry published an article last week entitled “Politician’s Pornstar Wife,” saying Anabela Mota Janke (above, with her husband) is the porn star known as Jazella Moore. NBC-2.com spoke with Mota, who confirmed she is Jazella Moore.
The Town Council then started getting calls from media outlets across the country. It fired Scott Janke for what one council member called “the good of their constituency.”
Some residents questioned why Scott Janke was fired so quickly, or why he was fired at all, the Fort Myers News Press reports.
“I’m very puzzled about the need for emergency action since our manager has been married since October,” said beach resident Pat Smith. “What I don’t also understand is why it matters so much what the spouse of the mayor is doing so long as it’s legal.”
Before now Janke’s biggest crisis as city manager was a water main break that left thousands of residents without water and the discovery that a water utility fee had not been collected that could have cost the town millions, the newspress.com reports.
Janke, 55, and Mota, 43, were married in October on Fort Myers Beach.
When news-press.com of Fort Myers conducted man-on-the-street interviews to gauge public reaction, it found support for Janke.
“In this day and age, it’s good that she has a job,” one resident said. “As long as you have a job, you are probably doing okay.”
And the comments at naplesnews.com are running heavily against the firing. Ditto at newspress.com, which refers to Moore as "an adult video actress.''
The News-Press reports that Mota’s most popular video as Jazella Moore is “My Best Friends Mom” and that her web site refers to her as a “priestess of the erotic arts.”
