Schools may sell naming rights

The Volusia County School Board is considering selling naming rights.

The proposal would grant naming rights for school facilities and allow advertising on uniforms, district property, Web sites or printed materials, news-journalonline.com reports.

The school system would get 60 percent of the gross advertising revenue in the first year and 75 percent in the second and third years of the agreement as proposed by a company founded by a longtime Volusia school supporter.
