Cat rescue takes 2 days

It took two days to rescue a kitten that was stuck in the engine block of a car parked at a shopping center, DestinLog.com reports.

“We went to the movies, and when we came out, there was a note on the car saying your car is meowing,” Patrick Mills of Bluewater Bay told the Destin Log. He called the fire department for help, and firefighters spent four hours putting the car on blocks and removing wheels and other car parts in an unsuccessful effort to get the 4-week-old kitten out.

Lots of people helped — Panera Bread provided tuna and Starbucks donated milk during the ordeal — but it took a cat rescue volunteer who was at PetSmart to come up with a solution. She rattled a bent coat hanger inside the engine bock, and that flushed the kitten out.
