Deputies on probation for failing to find gun hidden in man's fat rolls

Two Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Deputies are on probation for not considering fat dangerous...sort of.

On Sept. 8, 18-year-old Stoney Mathis was arrested during a traffic stop, searched and taken to Okaloosa County Jail.

Turns out he wasn't searched fully. After his release the next day, a deputy searching the facility found a loaded .38 revolver tucked under a roll of toilet paper, according to the investigative report.

Investigators watched Mathis remove the gun from his waist band in surveillance video of his jail cell, according to theDESTINlog.com.
