FSU backs off logo demand

Florida State University apparently has decided that having a high school associated its sports teams with a major state school isn’t so bad after all.

Bradenton’s Southeast High School can go back to using the team nickname Seminoles (or just plain Noles), logo and spear design after playing one game with blank helmets, Bradenton.com reports. It had received a cease-and-desist letter on Aug. 16.

Still, the high school will have to pay the college $1 a year for the privilege.
