Siblings attack deputies, make threat with machete

Two North Naples siblings are accused of attacking deputies and threatening them with a machete, the Naples Daily News reports.

Francy Cardenas-Reyes, 23, and Lucinda Cardenas-Reyes, 25, of the 1100 block of South Alhambra Circle, were arrested Tuesday by Collier County sheriff’s deputies in the 4500 block of Boabadilla Street.

According to arrest reports, deputies were leaving the scene after determining there was no physical violence at a disturbance when Francy Cardenas-Reyes approached deputies and yelled: “I got a machete (expletive),” according to reports. Deputies said they ordered him to drop the machete, at which time Francy stated “I’ll kill you gringos!”

Francy then dropped the machete and ran toward the deputies with clenched fists and tried to attack but was taken to the ground and then tased in the abdomen, according to reports. While deputies tried to gain control of Francy, they said his sister Lucinda then punched one of the deputies in the left arm. Lucinda was kicked to the ground and also arrested.
