Smoking, oxygen tanks don't mix

There are things everyone should know you just don’t — like lighting a match to see if the tank still contains any gasoline, or smoking while using an oxygen machine.

A man in Fort Lauderdale ignored the second, lighting up while on oxygen and earning what one commentator at SunSentinel.com referred to as “our first finalist for the 2011 Darwin Awards.”

Yep, it exploded. His name and condition weren’t released.
