Luke Petitgout missed practice for the second consecutive day, but coach Jon Gruden said it was just an effort to give the veteran left tackle another day off.

On Tuesday, word was Petitgout was taking a break and lifting weights instead of practicing. Wednesday, his absence was just attributed to rest.

We'll keep an eye on his situation to see whether he returns tomorrow, as the Bucs have this afternoon off. Petitgout, you might remember, had a history of back issues when he was with the Giants.

Gruden said he would be back tomorrow.

"We did a lot of research into his New York Giants days," Gruden said. "He's played a long time, especially for some guys that have been on a specific program for the last three, four or five years. We're not concerned at all."
