The game had been over for about an hour already, and Jeff Garcia had just finished being grilled in a press conference.

So, as he slid out of the room and away from the cameras, we cornered him for one final little chat. In it, Garcia indicated what his expectations are for 2008. In speaking about next season and his hopes for the offense, Garcia hinted pretty strongly that he is looking for the Bucs to upgrade.

"I'm sure Coach Gruden will go out and try to make this a stronger team on the offensive side," Garcia said. Later, he added, "I will be very hands-on this off-season and be involved in whatever it takes."

That tells me Garcia is going to make his wishes known to Gruden. If we know nothing else about Jeff, we know that he isn't afraid to speak his mind to his coach.

Watching today's game, the one thing that kept standing out to me is the lack of help Garcia got. Where is the receiver making the unexpected catch? Certainly it wasn't Joey Galloway, who, by the way, could potentially have helped Garcia on the end-zone interception by trying to break up the Corey Webster's catch. There are very few dynamic players on the offense, and we saw that today. The Giants, who are supremely talented compared to the Bucs, at least had a few.

The Bucs have their work cut out for them this offseason. The schedule gets harder next season, and the veterans will be a year older. Maybe they don't need wholesale changes, but there are bound to be at some differences in 2008.

And that's not just my opinion, but apparently that of the quarterback, too.
