Bucs sign DE Wilkerson

Okay, so Chiefs' free agent defensive end Jimmy Wilkerson has five starts in five pro seasons and one career sack.

That didn't stop the Bucs from signing him to a two-year contract Saturday, according to agent Joby Branion.

The 6-foot-2, 290-pound Wilkerson might be able to play defensive end or tackle in the Tampa Two scheme. The Bucs were thin at the defensive end position after releasing Greg Spires and Kevin Carter on Wednesday. Carter may still re-sign with the Bucs.

Wilkerson won't take away playing time from Gaines Adams or Greg White. But he could work into the rotation with Patrick Chukwurah.

The Bucs could have a few more signings today. Titans tight end Ben Troupe is visiting today and receiver Devery Henderson met with the Bucs Friday.
