Doug Williams' contract set to expire
There's another staff member to keep an eye on.
Personnel executive Doug Williams' contract will expire in a few weeks, leaving his status up in the air. Williams is a key member of the pro personnel department whose chief responsibilities include evaluating the team's current roster and assessing potential free agent acquisitions. Williams, for example, was a proponent of the team's decision to sign WR Antonio Bryant.
Williams has the support of coach Jon Gruden, who was largely responsible for bringing Williams onboard. That would suggest that Williams will have the option to stick around if he wishes. It remains possible, however, that Williams could have opportunities elsewhere considering all the coaching staff and front office upheaval across the league.
