Here's the Bucs' path to the playoffs
The Bucs are reeling from Monday night's loss at Carolina, but they can still clinch a playoff spot on Sunday.
According to the NFL's media update, the Bucs will clinch a playoff spot with a win at Atlanta and a Cowboys loss or tie against the Giants. The Bucs also will clinch a playoff spot if the Eagles lose or tie against the Browns on Monday night.
Elsewhere in the NFC, the Vikings are on the verge of clinching the NFC North. If the Bears lose to New Orleans on Thursday and the Vikings defeat Arizona on Sunday, Minnesota wraps up the division crown.
Also, the Panthers can clinch a playoff spot under a number of scenarios including three in which they could lose and still clinch. Obviously, Carolina has a ways to go before it can claim the division title. The Bucs will have a lot to say about that.
For the Bucs, clinching a spot this weekend assures them nothing more than a wild card spot, which would require them to go on the road for their first-round game. That's not an ideal scenario judging by Tampa Bay's 3-4 road record. At Raymond James Stadium, the Bucs are 6-0.
