There doesn't seem to be much urgency for the Denver Broncos to part with quarterback Jay Cutler during the NFL's annual meeting.

In fact, if a deal ever happens, it's much more likely to occur during or just prior to the draft, according to one NFC general manager I spoke with at the St. Regis Monarch Resort and Spa in Dana Point, Calif.

That could change as teams line up to put together attractive packages of picks and/or players for Cutler. The New York Jets already have contacted the Broncos to express their interest in acquiring the fourth-year quarterback, according to the New York Daily News.

The Detroit Lions have the most bargaining power in the Cutler sweepstakes with the No. 1 overall pick and the 20th overall pick. But the Lions have already begun negotiating with at least three players they're considering taking No. 1 -- Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford, Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry, Virginia offensive tackle Eugene Monroe and Baylor offensive tackle Jason Smith.

Don't expect Bucs general manager Mark Dominik or coach Raheem Morris to comment publicly on their potential desire to trade for Cutler. Everybody knows they have an interest after entertaining a potential three-way deal several weeks ago that would've sent Cutler to the Bucs and Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel to the Broncos.

But with the 19th overall pick and their second rounder already dealt to the Browns for Kellen Winslow, they don't have as much juice as some other teams. Would you trade two No. 1 choices for Cutler, including one in 2010? It's something the Bucs may have to consider.
