Did Freeman just out the Bucs?

First-round pick Josh Freeman took a little time Saturday to participate in an NFL.com chat session, during which he made a startling revelation about his recent conversations with the Bucs.

Asked about the prospect of the Bucs selecting him, the former Kansas State quarterback said he pretty much knew what was coming.

"I felt that all along," he wrote. "Even when they picked up Byron Leftwich. It was something they told me -- they told me it was a smoke screen, everybody would think they didn’t want a QB. They said they were ready to trade up. I think it worked out great. I was sitting there with my family and enjoying it, and I got to go to the team that I wanted to go to."

That probably won't go over well with Leftwich, who joined the Bucs as a free agent earlier this month in large part because he thought he had a chance to win the starting job and revive his wayward career. We'll do our best to clarify this with Raheem Morris or Mark Dominik after the draft's conclusion, because it just screams for more follow up.
