Sapp: "A definite connection" between Kiffin announcement and defensive collapse
Ex-Buc Warren Sapp stopped by One Buc Place Tuesday saying he wanted to get his "football fix."
In a wide-ranging session with reporters, Sapp - now an NFL Network analyst - said among other things that he felt when defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin announced last fall he was leaving for the University of Tennessee, it had "a definite connection" to the Bucs defensive collapse in their final four games (all losses).
"I never heard (Derrick) Brooks that distraught on a telephone call, and I've known him since he was 17 years ago, we went to the Florida-Georgia game together," Sapp said. "Once I knew he was upset, it had to filter down because that's the way this place is always built. You get your tone from your head man and Brooks was the head of it. He was absolutely out of his rock about it."
