McCardell watching Bucs, contemplates coaching
Receiver Keenan McCardell, who left the Bucs in a messy contract dispute in 2004, returned to One Buc Place Tuesday at the invitation of new head coach Raheem Morris.
McCardell ended his 17-year career in 2007 but said he has been considering a career in coaching.
He said he ran into Morris at a charitable golf tournament hosted by Derrick Brooks.
"He just kind of said, "What's up?' McCardell said. "I said, "I'm thinking about dibble dabbling in coaching a little bit. I haven't made my mind up yet. He said, "Come out and see if you like it.' And it was fun. I'm enjoying it.''
McCardell, who forced his trade to the San Diego Chargers after holding out in 2004, said he has no hard feelings toward the Bucs, especially with the new regime.
"It's nothing with the Glazer family. I have great friends here,'' McCardell said. "I enjoy the area. This organization brought me a Super Bowl, so how could I be mad at them? Business was business and you move on. You can't be bitter about that.
"I always rooted for these guys when I was away because I put a lot of sweat and tears into this organization and enjoyed it.''
