Derrick Brooks awaits word from Saints, hears from Raiders

Pro Bowl linebacker Derrick Brooks said the Saints were impressed with his workout Wednesday. Although he left without a contract, the Saints told Brooks they will contact him again after Friday's preseason game.

Meanwhile, Brooks said the Oakland Raiders contacted his agent and expressed an interest in the 14-year pro.

"It went well," Brooks said in a text message to the Times. "I was told they liked how I looked. They want to get through Friday's game and talk more this weekend."
