Bucs release Marcus Johnson after DUI; Sean Mahan also let go

The Bucs have made a flurry of moves this afternoon, chiefly the decision to release G Marcus Johnson after his DUI arrest early this morning.

Johnson, according to police, was arrested around 4 a.m. when he was found asleep at the wheel of a vehicle near Raymond James Stadium. Johnson was acquired in September just prior to the start of the regular season.

The other move of note was the release C Sean Mahan, who started four games in starter Jeff Faine's absence. Mahan struggled in filling in and negatively impacted the play of the team's quarterbacks. He was released by the team during the preseason only to be re-signed after Faine's triceps injury in the season opener.

To compensate for the lack of depth, the Bucs promoted OL James Lee from the practice squad. Look for the Bucs to add an interior lineman in the coming days.
