Clifton Smith, Chris Hovan return to practice

Pro Bowl kick returner Clifton Smith participated in practice Thursday for the first time since suffering a concussion Sunday against the Panthers. He caught some passes, but didn't appear to be involved in the special teams portion in the time that practice was open to the media.

Defensive tackle Chris Hovan also returned to practice after missing one day with an ankle injury. Michael Clayton (hamstring) and Ryan Sims were also there.
