We told you last night about the additions of WR Terrence Nunn and QB Rudy Carpenter.

Now, we know that QB Byron Leftwich will be one of the men replaced by them on the active roster. Leftwich, who has been complaining of elbow soreness for some time, has been placed on injured reserve. Leftwich has seen several doctors who have told him he would be sidelined for quite a while. He also has been told his condition is similar to the one former Buc Brian Griese dealt with last season. That injury sidelined Griese for nearly two months.

In addition to the Leftwich move, the Bucs released CB Mike Mickens. Carpenter was signed from the Cowboys' practice squad while Nunn was plucked from the Patriots' practice squad.
