Bucs offseason attendance looking good so far
You'll read plenty this time of year about who is and isn't attending voluntary offseason workouts across the league.
Around here, we're not into headcounts because there's no obligation for guys to show up for voluntary work in March. Besides, the conditioning sessions are closed to the media.
But one thing I can tell you after spending the day at One Buc Place is that I left with a sense that guys are turning out in big numbers. The parking lot certainly was full, which is always a good sign. There probably were some veterans missing, but that doesn't mean much this time of year. This is mainly a conditioning period, meaning guys can do this stuff on their own if they choose. There is little football-related work taking place and coaches aren't even allowed to instruct players in any on-field activities per league rules.
But with guys like Barrett Ruud -- an unsigned restricted free agent -- already showing up long before OTAs, the offseason seems to be off to a pretty good start.
