Bucs vs. Antonio Bryant will be must-see TV
It just occurred to me that there's an interesting subplot to the news of Antonio Bryant signing with the Bengals on Wednesday.
Turns out, the Bucs play at Cincinnati this fall, pitting them in a game against their former star wideout. The date for the game won't be revealed until the regular-season schedule is released in the spring.
But perhaps we should go ahead and establish the over-under now on how many catches and/or yards Bryant will have in the matchup. The sense here is that he'll want to turn in a good showing as a reminder of what he's capable of.
Bryant hasn't said anything regretful about the Bucs, and I don't know that he will. But he certainly wished things in Tampa Bay would have ended differently, rather than the club telling the media it had no intention of bringing him back.
Anyhow, the Bengals should be a team that have plenty to play for this fall, and they're coming off a 6-2 season at Paul Brown Stadium. So, don't be surprised to see a big game from Bryant.
