There's been a lot of speculation that the Bucs won't select a player with the No. 3 overall pick because of the large signing bonus and more than $30-million of guaranteed money that would accompany it.

Even if defensive tackles Ndamukong Suh or Gerald McCoy were available, the skeptics say, the Bucs will do everything in their power to trade down.

While there are some scenarios where trading out of the No. 3 pick makes sense for the Bucs, general manager Mark Dominik said the value of the contract is not a concern.

"We're been given no financial restraints whatsoever in this draft, whether it's the third pick or any pick,'' Dominik said. "If the right player is there, we'd have no problem taking him.''

That said, the Bucs are exploring and preparing for every scenario.

"We're in a lot of strategic planning as we go right now in terms of how to maximize our ability to take advantage of the talent in this draft, at the same time understanding we must do so,'' Dominik said.

The Bucs biggest need is at defensive tackle and it's likely they will be in position to select either Suh or McCoy.

The Rams are expected to select Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford with the No. 1 overall pick. The Lions will have their choice of defensive tackles and are projected to select Suh. That would leave McCoy, who visited the Bucs earlier this week, for Tampa Bay.
