Kellen Winslow would not reveal the nature of a sixth surgery on his right knee and says pain is something he deals with every day.

Making his first appearance Monday at One Buc Place since Organized Team Activities began, Winslow vowed that he will be ready for training camp and return the form that allowed him to lead the Bucs in receiving last year. 

"It feels good. It's just something I deal with every day,'' Winslow said of his right knee. "I'm not going to let these guys down, though...It's an every day thing. It really is. It's not easy, by any means necessary. But I've been through worse and I'll be back and I'll do my job and my thing.''

The Bucs have said Winslow's most recent surgery was a relatively minor arthroscopic procedure. Most likely, it was to clean up scar tissue from the five previous knee surgeries. But Winslow didn't want to give specifics Monday.  

"I'm not going to talk about that,'' Winslow said. "You guys can speculate. It's my sixth one. But you can't stop me, you know what I mean? So I'll be back.''

Winslow has kept with his routine of training in San Diego and appeared, as usual, in excellent physical shape. He jogged lightly at times Monday and was wearing a protective sleeve on his right leg. But he will not participate in the minicamp beginning next week.

"It was just time to get back,'' Winslow said. "I've been training back in San Diego real hard and this is all I think about, man, is getting out here with these guys and the coaches. I just want to be right when I do come back. It's just important for me to rehab strong in the off-season.

"This is something I've done in the past. I don't really do OTAs. I go back in San Diego and I train real hard with my trainer Todd Durkin. It's nothing new.''

Also not new is the Bucs offense under Greg Olson, although Winslow said he has some studying to do on the terminology.

"Just some terminology things, but the basics are the same,'' Winslow said. "My head is spinning right now, but I'll be fine. It'll take a couple weeks and I'll be here until training camp working. I'll be coming back.''

Winslow said he is looking forward to playing his former Cleveland Browns team in Tampa in the regular-season opener.

"I am. It's going to be fun playing against some of the old guys and that organization,'' Winslow said. "I loved playing for Cleveland and the Browns organization. It was fun times and we had some bad times there, but it's going to be fun.''
