Bowers dealing with concussion-like symptoms
Bucs coach Greg Schiano said that defensive end Da'Quan Bowers is dealing with concussion-like symptoms and his status is uncertain for Sunday's game against Atlanta.
Bowers, who picked up a half-sack on the key final drive stop of the Dolphins in Monday's 22-19 win over Miami, is undergoing tests, Schiano said.
If Bowers can't play, rookie defensive end William Gholston is a possible option to fill in as a situational pass rusher. Schiano said Gholston, the fourth-round pick out of Michigan State, is growing up, and has progressed very well.
Right guard Davin Joseph didn't practice but Schiano said that was by design as a rest day. With a short week due a Monday night game, the key is to get guys ready for Sunday against Atlanta.
