Bowers inactive for Bucs after missing week of practices
Bucs defensive end Da'Quan Bowers, held out of practice all week with concussion-like symptoms, is among Sunday's inactives for the Bucs' home game against the Falcons.
With Bowers inactive, the Bucs should have more reps in the rotation for its two rookie draft picks, William Gholston and Steven Means. Gholston had a half-sack (split with Bowers) on the final drive as the Bucs clinched their first win Monday against the Dolphins.
Other inactives: guards Carl Nicks and Patrick Omameh, corners Deveron Carr and Danny Gorrer, safety Bradley McDougald and defensive tackle Derek Landri. That means rookie running back Michael Hill, signed off the Packers' practice squad this week, is active as the No. 3 running back, as are all the Bucs' receivers, including Chris Owusu, who missed last week's game with a foot injury.
