Bucs add two cornerbacks to practice squad
As the Bucs prepare to return to work after four days off on their bye week, the team has tweaked its practice squad, including the additions of cornerbacks Dax Swanson and Keon Lyn.
Swanson, 24, was most recently on the Patriots' practice squad after being among their final preseason cuts. He holds the career record for interceptions at Sam Houston State with 14, including one against Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel. The 5-foot-11, 191-pound prospect signed with the Colts out of college last year and was on the 49ers' practice squad but has never played in an NFL game.
Lyn, 23, had been on the Jets' practice squad and was with the Colts last season but also hasn't played in an NFL game. He had three interceptions at Syracuse, where he missed his final eight games with a fractured left kneecap in 2013.
The Bucs also re-signed offensive tackle Martin Wallace for a third stint on their practice squad, releasing defensive tackle Derrick Lott to make room for him.
The Bucs also worked out two fullbacks on Monday -- former Giant Henry Hynoski, as well as Emil Igwenagu, who has spent time with the Eagles and Lions. Neither player was immediately signed by Tampa Bay, though Bucs fullback Jorvorskie Lane is healthy, so the team may be looking to upgrade their play at a position where they'll only carry one player.
