Bucs back on Monday night after three-year absence
It's been nearly three years since the last time the Bucs were on Monday Night Football -- a 22-19 home win over the Dolphins in Nov. 2013, marking the longest the Bucs have gone without a Monday night game since 1998, when they played on MNF for the first time in nearly 15 years.
The Bucs have won their last two MNF games, including a 2011 win against the Colts -- their last MNF loss was in 2008, against these same Panthers in this same stadium.
How long has it been since the Bucs' last MNF appearance? Despite it being less than three years, only eight players who played in that game are expected to play in tonight's game: WR Vincent Jackson, LT Demar Dotson, DT Akeem Spence, LB Lavonte David, CB Johnthan Banks, S Keith Tandy, WR Russell Shepard and DE Will Gholston. DT Gerald McCoy, inactive tonight would be a ninth, and Mike Glennon, who could play as a backup QB, would be 10.
The Bucs in their history are 10-9 on Monday night.
