Bucs cut TE Danny Vitale, keep undrafted rookie Alan Cross
More big news Friday morning about the Bucs and undrafted rookies, as Tampa Bay has waived sixth-round draft pick Danny Vitale and will keep Alan Cross, a rookie free agent from Memphis, among five tight ends on their roster.
Cross, a former walk-on at Memphis, is the third undrafted rookie known to have made the Bucs' initial 53-man cut, along with defensive end Channing Ward and defensive tackle DaVonte Lambert. Vitale could come back on the Bucs' practice squad, but it's telling that the Bucs kept an extra tight end with five on roster and he still missed the cut.
Myers, who was inactive for the Bucs' final five games last year as a healthy scratch, joins Cameron Brate, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Luke Stocker in making the roster along with Cross.
