Bucs fall 16-10 to Jags in preseason opener
JACKSONVILLE -- The Bucs had two turnovers from starting quarterback Josh McCown and gave up a late touchdown for a 16-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Friday night's preseason opener at EverBank Field.
McCown fumbled twice -- recovering one himself -- but had a pass intercepted by Jaguars safety Winston Guy and returned 68 yards for a touchdown. The Bucs rallied back behind backup Mike Glennon, whose touchdown to receiver Tommy Streeter early in the fourth quarter tied the game at 10-10. Jacksonville got the winning score with 6:27 left as former Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson scored on a 23-yard touchdown.
The Bucs' offensive line struggled early with three of the team's four first-half penalties and frequent pressure on McCown. The team will look to bounce back at home next week against the Dolphins.
